Please note the Ivory Coast Authorities have notified that the below regulation is now implemented in full.

Please be advised that the Ivory Coast Authorities have notified their intentions to implement a new program to ensure the interests of the importers, local consumers, industries and environment are protected.

Therefore – as of sailing date April 16th, 2018 the Importer will be required to present a certificate of verified conformity of goods to the local authorities. This certificate is to be provided by the Shipper and can be obtained by the various below mentioned programs:

  • BUREAU VERITAS (Inspection valuation assessment and control (BIVAC BV)
  • COTECNA (Inspection)
  • INTERTEK (International limited)
  • SOCITE GENERAL DE SURVEILLANCE (SGS)

Pls note this certificate is required for all cargo with a value greater than 1 million CFA which is approx.. 1600 USD.

Furthermore,  All goods imported into Ivory Coast without a certificate of compliance will be apply a penalty of 50% of the CIF value with followed by referral to destruction of the cargo borne by the importer.

Please note this is a requirement which is purely the responsibility of both the export and importer.
